Al-Nassirah 40 mm rocket propelled grenade launcher, 2003 (c). Optical sight PGO-7V

This Iraqi produced copy of the Russian RPG-7 launcher captured during Operation TELIC, Iraq (2003), was and is the weapon of choice for both the Iraqi Army and insurgents. It is a simplified weapon meant to be used with a tangent sight but an optical sight can be fitted. Challenger tanks and Warrior vehicles particularly when fitted with additional cage or bar armour are generally more than a match for rocket propelled grenades but unarmoured vehicles are vulnerable to attack.
