Helmet used by the Iraqi forces in Basra, 2003 (c)

This combat helmet was used by Iraqi soldiers in Basra. Although it is coated with ballistic resistant plastic, the protection offered by the helmet is poor in comparison with those used by British or Americans soldiers.

The helmet was collected by Staff Sergeant R P McLean, 2nd Royal Tank Regiment, during his deployment in 2003.
