Specimen Iraq Medal 2003, with clasp, '19 March to 23 April 2003'
Obverse shows the crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth, inscribed with, 'Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina Fid Def'. Reverse shows image of a Lamassu (Assyrian winged lion/bull) over the word, 'Iraq'. Sand-coloured medal ribbon with central narrow stripes of black, white and red.
The Iraq Medal was awarded for 30 days continuous service on Operation TELIC in specified qualifying areas of the Middle East. The Iraq Medal with Clasp '19 Mar to 28 Apr 2003' was awarded for seven days continuous service during TELIC in Kuwait or Iraq between the dates of the initial conflict (19 March to 28 April 2003).
