Printed letter of condolence bearing the facsimile signature of King George V, 1918

This letter was sent to the next-of-kin of Lance-Corporal Albert H Haughton, 23rd Battalion, The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment). Haughton was one of 32 soldiers lost in his battalion's very costly action at Flers-Courcellette on 15 September 1916. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
