Letter from Staff Surgeon George Morse, Army Medical Service, to his wife in Portsmouth, April 18[09?]
Sent from Salvatoria, where he was serving in the Peninsular War (1808-1814), his letter refers to Portuguese hospitality, the inspection of Portuguese hospitals, billets at a royal house, and the coming visit of the 13th Dragoons.
One of five letters written by Surgeon George Morse of the Army Medical Service during the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815).
