Persians in Abadeh, 1918

Photograph, World War One, Persia (1914-1918), 1918.

In June-July 1918 Abadeh witnessed an attack by local tribesmen attack the British post there. The tribesmen were in alliance with mutineers from the South Persia Rifles. Captain Newton Williams helped disarm many of the latter.
