The poster poses questions, with illustrated answers, relating to the danger and prevention of Typhus and the lice that carry it. It was aimed, in particular, at troops on active service in Italy during World War Two (1943-1945).
The text reads: 'How is it spread? liceWhere do Lice come from? Dirty civiliansHow can I prevent it: 1. Regular baths 2. AL.63 In the seams 3. Regular Inoculation
AL.63 was a DDT-based anti-louse powder used during the war to prevent infestation.
