War correspondent Alan Wood typing out a despatch in a wood outside Arnhem, 18 September 1944

Inspired by the bravery of the airborne troops at Arnhem, Wood wrote: 'if in the years to come, you meet a man who says, "I was at Arnhem", raise your hat and buy him a drink.'
