Earthenware pot lid, 1854 (c)

This lid has a transfer printed chromolithgraph image of Field Marshal Lord Raglan alongside General Canrobert on his horse. Raglan died in the Crimea on 28 June 1855. Canrobert took command of the French Army after the Battle of the Alma (20 September 1854), but resigned later in 1855.
