Typescript copy of a report of tank action on 15 November 1916

Written by Captain Richard Clively, the commander of 4th Section, Heavy Section, Machine Gun Corps, the report highlights the 'extraordinarily bad ground' as a reason for the failure of the tank attack during the Battle of the Ancre (13-18 November 1916) on the Somme.

From a collection of operational papers relating to the career in the Tank Corps of Colonel Bruce Archibald Holford-Walker, 1916-1935.
