Miss Eileen Lee-Smith with wounded soldiers at the Country Fair in Regent's Park, London. The event was held in aid of Our Dumb Friends' League. The latter was established 'for the encouragement of kindness to animals'. In 1912 the league started its 'Blue Cross Fund' to assist animals affected by war.
