Aylmer Gould Hunter-Weston commanded the 11th Infantry Brigade on the Western Front in 1914 before landing at Gallipoli in 1915 in command of 29th Division. He later commanded VIII Corps, but his service in the Dardanelles was marked by criticism of his abilities and his perceived disregard for the welfare of this troops.
