Soldier from 1st Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in Basra, Iraq, 2003
Digital photograph by Corporal Dave Liddle, Royal Logistic Corps, May 2003.
A fusilier, holding a Light Support Weapon, on security patrol at the port of Basra in Iraq, during Operation TELIC (2003-2009). At this stage in their deployment British troops were still operating with a 'soft posture', evidenced by the soldier wearing his beret and red and white hackle (feather plume) rather than a helmet.
From a CD of digital photographs relating to 1 UK Division, 7th Armoured Brigade and 16 Air Assault Brigade in Kuwait and Iraq during Operation TELIC, 13 April to 23 June 2003.
