A Danish Eagle armoured vehicle provides static fire support at Musa Qala, Helmand, 2006

The Danish 1st Light Reconnaissance Squadron, known as 'The Griffins', arrived in Musa Qala on 26 July to relieve the Pathfinder Platoon of the Parachute Regiment who were besieged by Afghan insurgents. The Danes' firepower added greatly to the defences of the Musa Qala compound.
