'DIY chessboard', Forward Operating Base Robinson, Sangin, 2006

Digital photograph from a collection of images provided by Light Electronic Warfare Troop, 14 Signal Regiment, Royal Signals for the National Army Museum's 'Helmand' exhibition in 2007.

The picture shows a home-made chess board with ammunition rounds arranged as gaming pieces. This was used in one of the bases established by 16 Air Assault Brigade in Helmand Province in 2006.
