'D' Company, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles, before their deployment to Afghanistan, 2006

'D' (Tamandu) Company, 2nd Gurkha Rifles, were deployed in Helmand province on attachment to 16 Air Assault Brigade in January 2006. After their tour of duty they returned to Britain in October of that year and were stationed at Sir John Moore Barracks in Folkestone.
