Silencer for 9 mm Sten Mk VI submachine gun, 1943 (c)
The silencer was introduced for the Sten at the request of the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) in 1942 and first produced in 1943. A silenced Sten was intended to be fired in single shots only, except in an emergency, as automatic fire quickly wore out the baffles. This example is fitted with a webbing cover.
