Anglo Boere oorlog, 1899-1902
Instituted in 1920, this medal was awarded by the Union government of South Africa to officers and men of the former Boer republics for loyal service in the war against Britain. To qualify, proof had to be provided that they had fought against the British without surrendering or taking parole or the oath of allegiance prior to 31 May 1902.
