Solar shower, 23 Engineer Regiment (Air Assault), 2007 (c)
Black plastic rectangular bag. One side has printed instructions and the other is clear for heating the water. There is a red cap for filling and a small shower head with a tube, regulated by a tap. The bag can be rinsed with baking soda and warm water before use. It takes three hours to heat the water and the instructions note water temperature can exceed 120 degrees Farenheit.
These types of showers were used in the district centres or forward operating bases during Operation HERRICK in Afghanistan (2001-2014).
