Colour photolithograph recruiting poster, published by the Royal Highland Fusiliers, 1960 (c).

The poster depicts a full length figure of a fusilier waving his arm encouragingly. He is wearing 1949 pattern battle dress, 1939 pattern webbing, and a Royal Highland Fusilier tam o' shanter with white hackle. In his left hand he holds an L1A1 self-loading rifle and No. 5 bayonet.

The regiment was formed in 1959 from an amalgamation of the Royal Scots Fusiliers and the Highland Light Infantry, and its men were drawn mainly from Ayrshire and Glasgow.
