'Education new knowledge new worlds new pleasures', 1943

Lithograph poster designed by Abram Games, printed by Thomas Forman and Sons Limited, published by HM Stationery Office, 1943.

This poster shows a large yellow hand with a globe marked with the word 'education' held between its thumb and forefinger. A thin ribbon-like band connects the globe to several other spheres, and, in the foreground, it extends in front of the hand to become a banner with the legend 'new knowledge, new worlds, new pleasures'.

From a collection of 45 posters from World War Two (1939-1945).
