'Get in Shape for Civvy Street Civil Resettlement Units', 1945

Lithograph information poster designed by Abram Games (1914-1996), printed by Fosh and Cross Limited, London, for HM Stationery Office, 1945.

Once an end to the war was anticipated, ABCA instigated a campaign to prepare soldiers for their return to civilian life. Soldiers were asked to consider post-war reconstruction and given information on how to find employment after demobilisation. Parliament discussed whether soldiers should be encouraged to read the Beveridge Report, which had been published in 1942.

From a collection of 45 posters from World War Two (1939-1945).
