'He Talked. They Died', 1943

Lithograph poster designed by Abram Games, printed by Henry Hildesley Limited, 1943.

This was one of a series of wartime public information posters designed after Abram Games to show the unintentional effect of 'careless talk'. The image links the mouth of the perpetrator to a photograph of dead servicemen - in this case British soldiers killed during the failed raid at Dieppe in August 1942.

From a collection of 45 posters from World War Two (1939-1945).
