105 mm cartridge fired from an L118 light gun in Afghanistan, 2009 (c)

This shell case was fired at Forward Operating Base Inkerman in Sangin, Helmand, by 'A' Battery (The Chestnut Troop) Royal Horse Artillery. The senior battery in the Royal Regiment of Artillery, Chestnut Troop joined Operation HERRICK in 2009 as part of 3 Rifles Battle Group.
