Multi-terrain pattern patch with Union Jack, Afghan flag and 20th Armoured Brigade badges, 2011
These badges were worn by Chief Petty Officer Kevin Amaira, Royal Navy, who was responsible for training Afghan troops to locate and render Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) safe. By setting up training tasks and scenarios, he helped Afghan Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams develop their ability to identify wider threats such as multiple devices and ambushes.
