Multi-terrain pattern (MTP) Under Body Armour Combat Shirt (UBACS), 2010
The MTP UBACS is part of the Personal Clothing System (PCS), designed to suit the different environments British troops face on the front line. The material has been treated with Permethrin, a synthetic chemical that acts as an insect repellent. The torso is anti-static and sweat wicking and pockets and velcro patches have been fitted to the upper arms.
MTP camouflage is designed to blend with the range of environments in Afghanistan and was developed after extensive laboratory tests and field evaluations, which included aerial and scientific photography to provide the right colours and brightness for the new pattern. MTP combat clothing replaced the previous Combat 95 uniform.
