Action Man, 1981 (c)
This figure wears a jersey, camouflage trousers, beret, belt, boots and has an adjustable head. From 1981, the 'sharpshooter' head could pivot upwards to a degree not possible with the older versions, adding to the realism of the figure's shooting position. The beret features the badge of the Royal Tanks Corps and the set includes an SLR rifle.
The first Action Man figures introduced in 1966 were Action Soldier, Action Sailor and Action Pilot. Since 1996 Action Man has been styled as a non-military adventurer but earlier uniformed examples carry specific military references.
