Cap badge, No 1 cap, other ranks, The Mercian Regiment , 2010
This regiment was formed in 2007 and named after Mercia, the Anglo-Saxon kingdom which covered the English Midlands from the 6th to 10th centuries. The badge depicts the Mercian double-headed eagle with a Saxon crown as its emblem.
