A Scimitar CVR(T) light reconnaissance tank of D Squadron Household Cavalry Regiment operating in the desert in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. D Squadron deployed to Afghanistan in 2006 for Operation HERRICK 4, and again in 2008, as part of 16 Air Assault Brigade, for Operation HERRICK 8. The Squadron would return again in 2010 for Operation HERRICK 13.
