FireStorm integrated targeting system, 2015 (c)
FireStorm is a portable system that allows a soldier to accurately target a location on the ground and then direct aircraft and artillery to this target. The modern battlefield is a three dimensional space that requires different battle assets - such as aircraft, artillery and ground forces - to share quickly and accurately information in order to carry out an attack. The FireStorm targeting system has been used by the British Armed Forces since 2007 to co-ordinate such attacks with greater precision and success.
