Photograph of (back, L-R) Captain Henry (Harry) Frederick White, Lord Luke Annaly, Captain Charles (Charlie) White and (front) Captain Robert (Bobby) White.
Charlie White had joined the Royal Fusiliers in 1881, but from 1892 he was Chief Commissioner of Police for the British South Africa Company. Robert White commissioned into the Royal Welsh Regiment and became Chief Staff Officer to his brother, and Commissioner, Henry. Their elder brother, Luke, was the 3rd Baron Annaly.
From a collection of 30 photographs relating to Rhodesia in the 1890s and the Matabele War.
