Neck badge, Knight Companion of the Bath

From a medal group awarded to Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Maxwell Grant, 42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment of Foot.

Grant was a veteran of the campaign in Egypt (1799-1802) and the Peninsular War (1808-1814), serving with the 42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment of Foot and Portuguese forces. The National Army Museum Collection also contains a miniature portrait of Grant wearing the neck badge (NAM. 2016-12-16-1).
