Sultan's Medal for Egypt 1801
From a medal group awarded to Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Maxwell Grant, 42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment of Foot.
This medal was awarded by Sultan Selim III of Turkey to British officers who served during the campaign against the French in Egypt in 1801. The medal was made in four sizes according to the rank of the officer who received it.
