Operation TEMPERER is the mobilisation of military personnel to support the United Kingdom's police service in relation to major terrorist attacks. It was put into effect for the first time on 23 May 2017, a day after a suicide bomb attack at the Manchester Arena.Soldiers from 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, were among Army personnel deployed on security duties in central London with armed members of the Metropolitan Police. The operation was scaled back after the 31 May Bank Holiday.
