Protective clothing instructions, Kerry Town Treatment Unit, Sierra Leone, Operation GRITROCK, 2015

As part of Operation GRITROCK, the British Army provided support for the government of Sierra Leone in the face of a severe outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in West Africa. In 2014 and 2015, the Army planned, designed and constructed treatment centres and undertook an extensive programme of training in Sierra Leone.

The Kerry Town Treatment Unit, built by Royal Engineers, was a joint centre operated by the charity, Save the Children, and the Ministry of Defence. The unit was built by Royal Engineers, funded by the Department of International Development in 2014.
