Princess Elizabeth (1926-2022), daughter of King George VI, seated with officers and men of Grenadier Guards at the Guards Depot at Caterham in Surrey. The subjects are all named on the mount below.

Princess Elizabeth was appointed Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in 1942 during World War Two (1939-1945). Just over six months after this photograph was taken she became Queen Elizabeth II.
