Digital photograph by Corporal Paul Shaw, Associate of British Institute of Professional Photography (Army), 2015.

21 Special Air Service Regiment (Artists) is a British Army reserve unit, part of the UK's Special Forces (Reserve). The British Army website describes service with the unit as 'physically and intellectually challenging', but rewarding. 21 SAS accepts male and female applicants, with no previous military service. The reserves' selection course involves: 'Hills Preparation', 'Aptitude and the Standard Operating Procedures' and a 'Tactics Course', and is run mainly at weekends, over a year long period.
