The Duke of Kent, as Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, visiting soldiers at Leuchars Station, Fife, Scotland. The Prince examines a sniper rifle.
Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, served with the Royal Scots Greys (2nd Dragoons) and was on active service from 1955 to 1976. He served in Hong Kong and Cyprus and was briefly deployed to Northern Ireland. After his retirement from the Army the Duke of Kent was promoted to major general and then field marshal.
