Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, attends the Grenadier Guards Black Sunday ceremony in London in his capacity as Colonel of the Regiment. Black Sunday is a regimental day where serving and retired Grenadier Guardsmen remember and pay tribute to those guardsmen killed and injured in past conflicts.
Prince Philip was appointed Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in 1975 and held the position until 2017 when the role was assumed by HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.
