'The Jews the world over love liberty, have fought for it and will fight for it', 1915
Recruitment poster produced in Canada during World War One (1914-1918). It aimed to recruit Yiddish-speaking Jews into the British Army.
A soldier kneels to release a man who is bound with ropes so that he can join soldiers rushing to the front. Other soldiers carrying rifles run along in the background.
The portraits above are of the Rt Hon Hervert Samuel, Viscount Reading and Rt Hon Edwin S Montagu, all of whom were the first three practising Jews to hold positions in the British Cabinet.
