Tactical recognition flash, 202 Field Squadron Royal Engineers

Square textile patch with black witch flying on a broomstick on green ground. This small version was commissioned for wear in shirt sleeve order but official permission was not granted.

202 Squadron chose a Pendle witch for its emblem as it is based nearby, in Manchester. The infamous trials of the 'Pendle Witches' took place in 1610 and resulted in the execution of ten of the accused.
