Badge, Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC), 1995
Shield-shaped woven patch with gold border bearing the motto in Latin, 'Audentis Fortuna Luvat' ('Fortune Favours the Brave'), in black, around a green shield with a grey spearhead pointing upwards in the centre.
The Allied Rapid Reaction Corps was created in 1992 to conduct specific NATO operations in Europe at the end of the Cold War. Its first deployment was to Bosnia in 1995, where, with a year long mandate, it assumed command of all land forces deployed there. Known as the Peace Implementation Force, or IFOR, three multinational divisions were deployed to implement and enforce the Dayton Peace Accords.
