A team commander of 6 Platoon, B Company, 1st Battalion, The Cheshire Regiment undertaking a security patrol with Iraqi Police in Basra, Iraq, 29 June 2004. Operation RAT TRAP involved moveable vehicle checkpoints designed to apprehend potential terrorists and confiscate concealed weapons. The area where the soldiers were patrolling was known as 'IED alley', because of the numerous improvised explosive device attacks by local militants.
