Photograph, World War One, 1914-1918 (c).
The First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY) was formed in 1907 and acted as a first aid link between front-line fighting units and field hospitals. As well as running hospitals, FANYs drove ambulances and set up soup kitchens and canteens for the troops during World War One. It was the first British women's voluntary organisation to go out to the Western Front.
From the third of three albums compiled by Lilian Franklin OBE, First Aid Nursing Yeomanry, 1914-1918.
