Personal undercar search mirror in box, 1985
Mirrors like this were issued to all soldiers and their families in the British Army of the Rhine to enable them to sweep under their cars for IRA bombs before making any journey.
They unfolded and extended, and came complete with a torch. This example was issued to Terry Pugh in 1985 while he was serving with the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars in Bergen-Hohne.
