Allied Victory Medal 1914-19, Lieutenant Frederick George Thomas, Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment)
Circular, bronze medal designed by William McMillan with a figure of Winged Victory holding a palm branch on the obverse. On the reverse, the inscription, 'The Great War for Civilisation 1914-1919', within a laurel wreath. The rank and name of the recipient appear on the edge of the medal. The medal has a suspension ring but no ribbon.
Lieutenant Thomas was a petroleum engineer in Persia (modern Iran) before World War One (1914-1918). He was wounded in action during the conflict while serving with the Middlesex Regiment.
