Nose cone, rocket propelled grenade (RPG) round, Iraq, 2017 (c)
This RPG nose cone was found in Mosul by Iraqi Security Forces. It was probably used by the Islamic State Forces while attempting to modify RPG warheads for use in Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
Once items such as this were recovered they were sent to the Military Base in Besmaya, Iraq, where they were analysed to identify new trends or significant changes in IED construction.
