Cap badge, officer, The Rifles, 2019 (c)
White metal cap badge in the form of a bugle horn suspended by knotted cords, surmounted by a crown; with a split pin fixing on reverse.
Formed in 2007, The Rifles was created from the amalgamation of the Royal Green Jackets, the Light Infantry, the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment and the Devon and Dorset Regiment. The heritage of these regiments has been retained in the insignia of The Rifle, its battle honours and in the double past regimental march. The units inception came at a time when the United Kingdom was involved in two major conflicts. Battalions from The Rifles would, as a result, take part in several tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
