A member of 47 Regiment, Royal Artillery, part of a COVID-19 Mobile Testing Unit , West Midlands, 12 June 2020

Digital photograph by Sergeant Beale, June 2020.

This gunner, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including a mask and visor, was part of a Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) deployed to the West Midlands Safari Park at Bewdley, Worcestershire in June 2020. The deployment was part of Operation RESCRIPT, a Military Aid to the Civil Authorities operation in the United Kingdom, initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic which began in Spring 2020. At the drive-through MTUs soldiers issued self-test kits to people showing symptoms of the virus and collected them on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care.
