An officer of 47 Regiment, Royal Artillery, with a COVID-19 Mobile Testing Unit, West Midlands, 12 June 2020

Digital photograph by Corporal Andy Reid, 12 June 2020.

This officer, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including a mask and visor, was the overseeing officer of a Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) deployed to the West Midlands Safari Park at Bewdley, Worcestershire, in June 2020. The deployment was part of Operation RESCRIPT, a Military Aid to the Civil Authorities operation in the United Kingdom, initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic which began in Spring 2020. At the drive-through MTUs soldiers issued self-test kits to people showing symptoms of the virus and collected them on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care.
